August 26th - Our Nectarine tree has lots of blossoms on it - no leaves of course! trouble is that this happens every year and the tree is so old, the Nectarines never grow into the beautiful juicy fruit they are!
August 25th - Into the city for a lunch date with Chris. It was freezing and the wind was blowing a gale. We stopped at Melbourne Central which was warm and sheltered and also meant I didn't need to stand on a cold platform to catch the train home.
August 24th - Late afternoon, Grace was peckish, we needed to duck down to Southland, so it was a quick KFC meal - I know, not a good idea and very unhealthy! I had a savoury muffin - does that count?
August 23rd - Rob's been unwell today so I took advantage and did some computer scrapping. Trouble was, time got away from me and it was almost 1am before I realised! Late to bed again!
August 22nd - Rob decided to cook and his choice was Duck & Peach Salad. After having problems getting both Duck and Peaches, he settled for Pork and Mango (with some cherries for added flavour!) It actually was quite tasty!
August 21st - Technology is so amazing! This little USB Flash Drive holds so much information - and I can just tuck it into my pocket without it being a nuisance.
August 20th - I love reading and always have one book on the go. I usually read at bedtime - it is relaxing and I like snuggling into bed with a good book. Jodie Picoult writes very intriguing stories.
Week 33
August 19th - Gypsy is such a character of a cat! There are times when I am outside, and if she is around, she follows me to see what I am doing ... just as she did today. Soooo cute!
August 18th - Yay, the Jasmine is starting to flower! Placing the flowers in the house creates a wonderful fresh perfume - but if you don't like the smell of Jasmine then it's not lovely! Just as well I do!
August 17th - The Entertainment Book has some great deals in it - it's just a pity that it is so heavy and can't be carted around easily. And, I need to be very organised so that I know what coupons I need when we go out!
August 16th - I know, fruit again! But I do love seeing the fruit baskets full of fresh, colourful fruit. It makes a dreary winter much brighter. Happy Birthday Sarah in Bolivia!
August 15th - We travelled to Werribee today and crossed the Westgate Bridge. The wind was blowing a gale and the flags were flying horizontally! Of course as we couldn't stop, I took this photo through the windscreen of the car.
August 14th - Bought a necklace from Sportsgirl and this little bag was what it was packed in. As it is small and has a sealable top, I am going to keep on to it ... or am I? Good marketing but do I really need to hang on to it?
August 13th - As I stand in the shower in the morning, the sunlight filters through the trees and the patterns on the frosted window are circular.

Week 32
August 12th - My keys! Car, house, post box ... my Curves entry tag and the amazing little Digger's Hat made from a 1951 penny - a present from my lovely Dad!
August 11th - Grace's hair straightener - also curls hair! Ididn't think it would but it does! I sometimes use it if I need to 'flatten' a strand that sticks out after a sleep - but don't tell Grace!
August 10th - Free, water saving shower heads have been offered to our local council area and we have replaced both our showers with them. I guess standing under a hot shower for more than 4 minutes, even with a water saver showerhead, doesn't save water!!
August 9th - After a big weekend working, we really need to celebrate our success and what other way than a tasty meal and a cold glass of champagne! Yum!
August 8th - I needed a floral arrangement for our seminar room and literally grabbed some flowers and greenery and placed them (strategically) into a vase - I thought I did a good job!
August 7th - One of the local Bowling Clubs host different shows during the year and we were invited to see Jo Camilleri & The Black Sorrows - a real blast from the past and a very entertaining, musical evening!
August 6th - Grace's school had a Talent Night, promoting all the different talents of the students from art to presentations to music. Grace sang a couple of songs beautifully and won the music award! Very proud!

Week 31
Aug 5th - This bar fridge at one of the local hotels got my attention because it just looked amazing (I'm such a visual!) with the light and colour and patterns.
Aug 4th - Spring is in the air and our neighbourhood is just blooming right now. These blossom trees together with the beautiful flowering magnolias are just stunning - driving around our streets is delightful!
Aug 3rd - This little red case is amazing in how much I can fit inside it! I look back at suitcases from the past and wonder how I survived with heavy, hard covered cases where I almost had to sit on the top to be able to close it!
Aug 2nd - Another cool day and we decided to have a hot spa, which we had to wait an hour for so we took a walk along the ocean beach at St Andrews while we waited for the phone call to say our spots were ready. The water was very rough, and uninviting!
Aug 1st - Girl's weekend away at Rosebud! We had lunch at a restaurant next to the bay - it was a cold, wet day and the open fire and glass of red wine felt very nurturing.
July 31st - My green corner of the back garden is looking very lush right now. I'd love to have a Balinese style garden and this is my little attempt at getting that tropical, abundant look!
July 30th - My glorious orchids - despite me not doing all the 'right' things to help them flower, the blooms I get from the different plants are just brilliant. These are the first for the season.
