Week 43

October 28th - Well, this is an end of an era. We are saying goodbye to our cars. I don't mind getting rid of the Merc as it a bit of a worry, maintenance wise, but my Commodore I do love. It's been a great car and has seen many ' spledid thing' in the 5 years we've had it.

October 27th - I love the name of this plant - Fang! It's a Venus Fly Trap. I thought it would be good in the bathroom where we have some pesky little flies that I can't seem to get rid of. And, I hate chemical sprays.

October 26th - My pre-gym breakfast. I don't like to eat before I exercise so having a banana and either juice or water helps my energy without the bulk.

October 25th - The abundant rain combined with the warm, sunny days has really boosted the growth ofour garden. The Nasturtiums are absolutely blooming and the colour is stunning.

October 24th - I just love Spinach & Fetta muffins, especially when they are warmed up and have a dollop of melted butter on them. Certainly not good for the waistline!

October 23rd - What have we done? I can't believe we've agreed to this! Guess it's all part of the teenage 'stuff'. Mind you, she did faint while I was paying for it!

October 22nd - Our poor old Nectarine tree is simply packed with nectarines! In all the time we've lived here (12 years) I have never seen it so packed. Mind you, half of it is dead! It will be interesting to see how many we'll actually get to eat.

Week 42

October 21st - My poor sewing machine is gathering dust. It's a good machine to use but I just haven't had time to do the things I need (and want) to do with it. perhaps after Christmas!

October 20th - It's that cat again, making herself comfortable on Rob's desk while he was working. Of course she didn't mind where she lay!

October 19th
- Rob has been doing cooking lessons (Asian Food) and as he couldn't go tonight due to other commitments, I went in his place and enjoyed some wonderful tastes!

October 18th
- After a big day yesterday, we took a leisurely stroll to the golf club for a coffee and chat before we headed back down the highway to Melbourne.

October 17th - We went to Ella's school fair and Grace howed into the Fairy Floss. It was a glorious day but we got there late because of Sophie's dress rehearsal.

Sophie had her dance concert in the evening and she was just delightful on stage. She performed three dances and just loved being on stage.

October 16th - Sometimes I feel that my life revolves around my diary. Rob and I had just had a meeting and our two diaries held the tasks and appointments for the day.

October 15th - I couldn't believe when I saw these CD"s at JB Hi Fi - all these Beatles Albums brought back memories of my teenage years and also of many of them that I owned as vinyl LP (long play) records.

Week 41

October 14th - The renovations at Chadstone seem to be going on forever. The signs say open in September 2009, but there are still heaps of stores unopened and a big chunk of the centre closed off.

October 13th - Combined birthday presents from the Fothergills saw Rob and I attend the show 'Parky' held at the Melbourne Arts Centre. We stopped in at a lovely Italian restaurant at Southgate pre-show. Both were great!

October 12th - I've had this hall stand for about 25 years. I was right into country style and 'antiques' back then. How my tastes have changed! But I guess you need the right house to have this sort of furniture.

October 11th - Rob and I checked out Costco today, at Docklands. I can't believe we waited 20 minutes to get in, to sign up to do some grocery shopping! What are we thinking?

October 10th - Celebrating two birthdays - Rob's and a good friend's. Same birthday, one year difference in age. We had a 'very jolly evening' as John would say!

October 9th - Gypsy is such a character. She goes to sleep anywhere. She really spread herself out tonight - right in the walkway so we had to step over her.

October 8th - No this isn't some furry monster. It's Grace's hair extensions. They are such a big need with the girls right now. Don't think I could stand the combs in my head.

Week 40

I had to take some extra photos this week as I lost some of them while I was loading them up to the computer!! Very annoying and the ones I lost were great!

October 7(a)th
- Part one of the 7th - Rob's birthday today and we did our usual celebration with the three of us going out to dinner. We went to the SOC, a local club where we are members.

October 7th - Part 2 for the 7th. Rotary breakfast meeting - 7am is far too early to go to a meeting! This morning's meeting was a good one though with Simon Crean being the speaker. I enjoyed his talk actually, even though it was political.

October 5th - Laundry is something that is endless! It feels like every time I get the basket empty, it seems to magically fill up again ... and quickly!

Happy Birthday Nell!

October 4th - This is what i am reading right now. I like Paullina Simons style - there is always an air of mystery and a real build up. Similar in a way to Jodi Piccoult, but different also.

October 3rd - I always like having books waiting for me to read as I get through them fairly quickly and I also like to have a choice. Here is a pile just itching to be read!

October 2nd - I enjoy Sushi and having it for lunch is quick and tasty. But, I can't understand why they load up with these little soy sauce vials. I'd much rather extra ginger!

October 1st - The legs on the glass-topped table broke and I needed to have one in our office. I think I was very creative by using a two drawer filing cabinet as the base. It's not perfect but does the job!
